Hydrogen Peroxide Assay kit

Product name: Hydrogen Peroxide Assay Kit

Example type: Urine, serum, plasma, other biological fluids, tissue extracts, cell lysate, cell culture media

Test type: Quantitative

Sensitivity: 0.04 µM

Test time: 1h 00m

Product description

The ab102500 Hydrogen Peroxide Assay Kit is a highly sensitive, simple, direct, and HTS-ready fluorometric and colorimetric assay for measuring H2O2 in biological samples. In the hydrogen peroxide assay protocol, horseradish peroxidase (HRP) reacts with a probe and H2O2 to produce a product with color (λmax = 570 nm) and red fluorescence (Ex / Em = 535/587 nm).

The detection limit is 2 pmol per assay (or 40 nM concentration) of H2O2 in the sensitive fluorometric assay.

  • Hydrogen Peroxide Assay Protocol Summary:
  • add standards and samples to wells
  • add the reaction mix and incubate for 10 min
  • analyze with a microplate reader

Notes

The kit can perform 200 reactions by fluorimetric method or 100 reactions by colorimetric method. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a metabolic by-product of reactive oxygen that serves as a key regulator for a number of states related to oxidative stress. By working through NF-kappaB and other factors, hydroperoxide-mediated pathways have been linked to asthma, inflammatory arthritis, atherosclerosis, diabetic vascular disease, osteoporosis, neurodegenerative diseases, Down syndrome, and diseases of the immune system.

Abcam has not applied for and does not intend to apply for REACH Authorization for the use of products by customers containing substances on the European Authorization List (Annex XIV). It is the responsibility of our clients to verify the need to apply the REACH Authorization, and any other relevant authorization, for the intended uses.
